MIUI 12 Global Launch to be held on May 19

MIUI 12 was released late last month by Xiaomi in China alongside Mi 10 Lite Zoom Version and Mi 10 Youth Version. MIUI is an Android-based custom operating system used by the Chinese business for its smartphones and is now in its 12th version. Nevertheless, at the launch event, the company did not disclose all the specifics of the roll-out, but now, via a mysterious Twitter update on the MIUI page, Xiaomi announced that MIUI 12 will be released for global markets on 19 May and that the company is scheduled to confirm the global roll-out timetable for the latest edition on that day.

The tweet posted by the MIUI account contains a puzzle that shows an significant day for MIUI 12, as per the post. As decoded, the final equation indicates the number 19, which is assumed to be the day of May 19 and may be the day of the global launch of MIUI 12. The business is scheduled to provide information on the global roll-out of the latest MIUI edition with a timetable for each user to upgrade. Xiaomi first announced MIUI 12 at the unveiling of the Mi 10 Lite Zoom Version, and at the time it was reported the MIUI 12 would be accessible at the end of June.

The business also posted a number of phones that would be released in the first and second batches in China. Some of the new features that will be added to MIUI 12. These include a flatter and more simplified interface, a number of text-enhancing graphics and visuals, redesigned system animations, Android 10-like navigation gestures, and many more. Xiaomi has also made some privacy-related changes, including Flare, which keeps a tab on all permissions given to different apps. There is also a new feature called Barbed Wire that allows users to grant app permissions for a specified amount of time. The Mask System feature prevents apps from accessing information such as IMEI number, calendar, call logs, and more.

MIUI 12 Pilot Testing Software

In fact, earlier this week, Xiaomi began hiring people for the upcoming MIUI 12 Pilot Testing System. This system is only accessible for a small number of computers, and Indian users of the Redmi K20 series may apply for software testing. To register for the system, users would have to enter the Telegram Party by 14 May (9 pm IST) and will have to update by 15 May, 9 pm IST.
