Mi Box 4K Streaming Device at Rs 3,499 launched in India

Xiaomi Mi Box 4 K streaming platform made its debut in India on Friday as part of the company's online launch function. The Mi Box 4 K is a stand-alone Android TV 9 Pie-powered system that connects to your current TV through an HDMI cable. The platform supports Wi-Fi for networking and allows users access to a range of applications and content available on Android TV, including common entertainment channels such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and more.

Mi Box 4 K price in India, date of sale

Xiaomi Mi Box 4 K price is set at Rs. 3,499. It will be available for the first time on May 10 at 12 pm (noon) through Flipkart, mi.com, Mi Home stores and Mi Studio stores. It will also shortly branch out to Xiaomi's offline affiliate shops. Xiaomi has collaborated with Docubay, Amazing, HoiChoi, and Shemaroo to bring enticing deals to Mi Box 4 K customers. Alongside Mi Box 4 K, Xiaomi has also launched Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 and Mi 10 5 G in India today.

Mi Box 4 K specifications

The Mi TV Box 4 K is built to be installed on a desktop and linked to a TV via an optional HDMI cord. The computer is operated by a quad-core Amlogic processor and features 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal software capacity. Up to 4 K broadcasting on compatible video channels is compatible, along with HDR10 broadcasting. The app would be able to access 4 K and HDR videos from online services promoting such formats, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

Unlike Xiaomi's range of TVs running on the company's PatchWall interface, the Mi Box 4 K will run only the stock Android TV interface. As the device is targeted at advanced users who usually know what they're looking for, PatchWall's content discovery-based features have been left out of this device.

Users would have extra access to the Mi Box 4 K including a USB port and a 3.5 mm wired adapter plug, as well as Bluetooth for attaching headphones or portable audio speakers. The inclusion of the USB port enables the computer to be used as a local media player, and there is broad support for various video and audio file formats. Chromecast Ultra is also built-in on the unit, enabling users to view content up to 4 K resolution.

The Xiaomi Mi Box 4 K is up against the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4 K, which is priced at Rs. 5,999 in India. Xiaomi focuses on users who are familiar with the Android TV platform and applications, as well as ease of configuration and integration of Android mobile devices and Google accounts. Nevertheless, the lack of support for Dolby Vision content on Mi Box 4 K is a big downside, considering that Netflix now has a wide library of material available in the Indian format.
