MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ 5G Chip to Launch on forthcoming iQoo smartphone

MediaTek Dimensity 1000 + was introduced by the Chinese chip giant as the new flagship product for luxury smartphones. The new 5 G MediaTek chip provides quicker refresh rate improvements and functionality such as HyperEngine 2.0, UltraSave Technology and MiraVision Image Quality Engine support. The chip has the ability to dynamically adjust the configuration of power and operating frequency of the modem according to network conditions and user activities to significantly save power. The first handset to incorporate this MediaTek Dimensity 1000 + SoC will be an iQoo handset that is scheduled to be unveiled later this month.

The MediaTek Dimensity 1000 + SoC supports up to 144Hz refresh rate displays that are more than 2.4 times faster per second than the standard 60Hz monitor seen on other smartphones. The business has confirmed the launch of a new HyperEngine 2.0 technology that enhances mobile gaming efficiency. This includes a Resource Management System to ensure game output fluidity with minimal power usage, an updated Networking System to allow call and data concurrence, and a Rapid Response Engine to help build lag-free gameplay experience with multi-peripheral co-existence to avoid possible interference.

The new MediaTek chip provides a more secure 5 G interface with fewer interference of video and voice calls. It has the ability to detect and switch networks based on different tasks. For eg, when gaming, the phone flips to 5 G and flips to 4 G while on standby. There is also a recent 5 G UltraSave system that has been launched to better conserve the battery and while utilizing 5 G networks. It immediately detects transitioning between networks and optimizes the modem to operate accordingly. MediaTek states that this latest chipset uses around 48 percent less power than other rival chips.

The Dimensity 1000 + SoC features low latency and anti-jamming technology and comes with state-of-the-art MiraVision technology that improves image quality and enhances video playback. The MiraVision Picture Quality Engine offers real-time, fine-grained frame adjustments to the dynamic range and details of 4 K videos and streams. It claims to offer better image quality than the standard HDR10 +. The MiraVision Engine also helps to intelligently upgrade and stream SDR videos in HDR quality.

As mentioned, Apple has yet to announce the launch of the iPhone 12, so all the specifics of the series listed above should be taken with a pinch of salt. Meanwhile, Prosser last week reported that the entry-level iPhone 12 is likely to be priced at $649 (roughly Rs. 49,100), whereas the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Limit is likely to be priced at $1,099 (roughly Rs. 83,200).
